It’s still a bad build tho, and it’s not apples to apples, realistically you want a comparable alternative, you are gonna need more then 1k,
Nah....he's right that it will outperform PS5 in the vast majority of games.

That's completely subjective. We all spend our money on what we want, finding reasons to validate our decisions. I drive a basic Toyota Prius. Some of you wouldn't be caught dead driving one. I bought a 4090. Some of you would never spend that much to play videogames. Lets not even get into audio equipment.
That's true.
Both PS5 and PC didn't drop prices in price/performance ratio since 2020 (even increased in case of PS5) so we are in the same situation where you can't match PS5 price with equivalent PC hardware 3.3 years later.
Umm. Yes. From both Microsoft and Sony for that matter.Does that include a Dualsense controller and quality first party games?
But a proper analysis of cost benefit / drawback to paying out for a more expensive PC, as opposed to remaining in Sony's eco-system over a long period of time is something with some validity.
Be a pro CoD player. You can use aim assist (lol). Maybe the easiest pro gamer out there.I can do my job on a pc, so it makes me money. How much can ps5 make for me?
But who sane trusts used consoles after YLOD and RROD, and especially one with no swappable internal SSD that is a time bomb?used PS5s can be cheaper
it's also very easy to activate Windows without a key. I'm not listing any sources but just know that with modern tools and such it's practically trivialWindows can be used for free as long as you don't mind the "Activate" message on the desktop background and the fact that you cannot change themes and such. So really no need to include it as a cost for building a gaming PC.
it isn't 2007 anymore, also every console has soldered on flash memory since the Wii U. The OG Xbox's clock capacitators are just now running out.But who sane trusts used consoles after YLOD and RROD, and especially one with no swappable internal SSD that is a time bomb?
See you soon.Primarily a PC gamer. Excuse currently, I can't play Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC. Rise of Ronin coming next month will also be a PS5 exclusive for some time. If day 1 exclusives go away on the PS5, I will sell it.
Makes no difference being 2007 or not anymore. Chips still get hot and every SSD will die. I don't trust new console hardware, imagine used or refurbished.it isn't 2007 anymore, also every console has soldered on flash memory since the Wii U. either way, it's not just used consoles that are cheaper. There's open box, refurbished, brand New systems from resellers selling them for cheap, etc.
99% of the nonsense you utter about PC gaming in every single thread sounds like heresay from someone who has had a friend in the 90s whose cousin`s crush had a gaming PC once.No need is there, the PS5 is all configurable with the controller. The rest of the PC experience, regular large slow forced updates, virus scans etc. I think we can happily do without.

Regular large slow forced updates? you mean the thing that's also on console too?The rest of the PC experience, regular large slow forced updates, virus scans etc. I think we can happily do without
Guaranteed problems. As someone who watched the video:
- Intel Arc has HDR issues it seems.
- Controller was not factored into cost.
- They used a disc drive PS5 instead of a cheaper digital model.
- Used parts, so no warranty and lots of gambling.
PC is still more expensive. And has morepotentialfor problems.
Guaranteed problems.
Like shitty IQ and/or performance for $70. Oh wait...Guaranteed problems.
600 dollars is not a few hundred dollars, that's half a dozen hundred dollarsIt's still "few hundred bucks"
But also, 750 bucks AT MOST is not equal to double the cost of a PS5 digital, taht's 450 dollars. & they did mention you could get a nice one for 600 dollars too, so....So if you spend double the cost of a PS5 you can get better performance, okay?
TBF using Intel Arc does guarantee problems. Even AMD drivers are leagues better these days. Good but a lot of catching up to do

those are bad sure but by that logic even a 4090 runs worse because it's got shader compilation and stutters. at some point you gotta accept that games will perform better if you have a nice build.these graphs dont do shit, its just numbers. you actually have to run alot of games to see the difference.
Shader compilation? stuttering? he;llo?
that's what happens when you get all the information on a platform from years old talking points and fanboyism, you assume that gaming is hell over thereSome folks here really go overboard with this PC problems narrative.
what can a 1k+ PC give you that suddenly makes it comparable to the PS5?It’s still a bad build tho, and it’s not apples to apples, realistically you want a comparable alternative, you are gonna need more then 1k,
Eh, no biggie.Like shitty IQ and/or performance for $70. Oh wait...
And by the time that's the case we'll have a PS5 Pro to watch out forSays it is still hard to match the value with new parts and maybe it will take 1 or 2 years more to beat it with a brand new PC at same price point.
Pretty soon is going to be the only War left ... and if Sony launchs all games day 01 on pc .. wtf are we going to fight for ? Soccer ? Fuck me.The console/PC war is humane anyways on Neogaf, I remember Gametrailers, now that was a Battlefield for Console war.
Yep. Bang for buck gets better as you shoot higher and get access to tech like DLSS 3.5(upscale, frame gen, rt recon).Spend $500 more and get a proper GPU, get more than 2x the performance of PS5. A few years of saving $20 per AAA game and no online fee and you already made that money back.
Which is completely ass-backwards. NVIDIA has completely shifted the market to the point budget options are absolute shit. The 4060 is barely faster than the 3060 which in turn wasn't even that much faster than the 2060S. The 60 cards have effectively been stagnating for over 3 years which is insane considering 60/70 tiers have traditionally been the sweet spot when it comes to price/performance.Yep. Windows, 4k blu ray drive, controller,?
How does that solve the problem of exclusives? I would pay 2000 dollars for a PS5 if it was the only place I could play Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.Spend $500 more and get a proper GPU, get more than 2x the performance of PS5. It seems that the console business is changing, PS5 has not dropped in price since launch in 2020, while the PC market has returned to normalized pricing after the crypto crash.
Right now is much more profitable a PC to play, not only you can get one for the price of practically a console, but you have free online, much cheaper games, mods, community patches, free games without subscriptions (epic games), access to all xbox day 1 exclusives, access to almost all playstation exclusives, the entire PC catalog, gamepass, emulation, freedom to use any type of controller, multiple screens or ultrawide....
So my question is what is the excuse now for console gamers?
It will be released on PC in MayHow does that solve the problem of exclusives? I would pay 2000 dollars for a PS5 if it was the only place I could play Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
I will admit the Linus video is a bit click baity for what it is, but some people here just take things way too far. There's nothing inherently wrong with putting X system against Y system and seeing what the outcome is.
I genuinely find it interesting and DF for example do a great job in my opinion.
I should clarify I mean a new, complete PC relative to a PS5. Not GPU vs GPU.Which is completely ass-backwards. NVIDIA has completely shifted the market to the point budget options are absolute shit. That the 4090 was actually a better deal than the 4080 until January when the latter dropped to $1000 is utterly insane.
How does that solve the problem of "I can't play Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC now"? You asked for an excuse, you're given an excuse. Now you're skirting around the excuse. It will be released on PC in May
Please understand the OP, he's going through one of the 7 stages of grief for his beloved plastic box. That complete 180 about PC gaming though yikes. My question is, "Did you actually watch the video?"
Like always pc gamers overestimating their pcs and crying when next gen only games doesn't run that well...
Well, one thing is clear to me, if the industry goes full digital I will go full piracy. And if the industry goes full gaas and always online I will go full retro (or indies).
And for the record I haven't pirated games for a decade (since I could afford to buy them myself).
It's funny because of how many people's double standards work,.
Sony is much closer to release all their games on day 1 on pc than xbox is on playstation, right now we have all the main playstation sagas (uncharted, god of war, ratchet and clank...) available on pc, and they recently released a game on day 1 on pc.
Microsoft hasn't done anything like that yet, but hey, xbox on playstation on day 1 is confirmed if you read between the lines but playstation on pc no way!
Hilarious
Not to put your hopes down, but FFXVI was supposed to be released in January 2024, but here we are.It will be released on PC in May
