Annnnnnnd so is everyone else, even the people being positive. Do the people who are happy about the scores get a free pass on needing to play the game to actually be definitively right about it being good? I guess so.
Hold everyone to the same standard, not just people who "hate" the game.
I wouldn't have played anything from this year until June if I did that. I need something to pass the time here and there.
Sit behind chest high walls, pick off guys with bad AI, finish them off with unnecessarily brutal finishing kills.
Been there done that too many times this gen.

I haven't made that decision yet. It hinges entirely on my ability to put up with a terrible console version for 10 hours when I have a nice PC sitting in front of me.
So we don't have to worry about your subjective opinions shitting up the Infinite or Ascension threads?! Fuckin A!
Come on guys, it probably isn't so bad...
Camilla....

And yet you place so much emphasis on highlighting it's faults, and how the gameplay is like a trainwreck, based on preconceived opinions and biases, and talk about how it's everything that's wrong with modern gaming - yet you'll gladly spend money and invest hours in it?

For the love of God, please don't buy it.I wouldn't have played anything from this year until June if I did that. I need something to pass the time here and there.

Nope I will be there picking those apart too. Bioshock (and Levine) especially has a lot to live up to after how bad 1 was.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you do this with Hitman too?

I think he does this to every game
Dropped to 86 on Metacritic because of Gamereactor Sweden (7/10) and Machinima (6/10).
Derrick needs to create a thread detailing exactly what it is he looks for in a game.
Reviews have never once praised bad games or bad elements before. Nope.
Dues Ex and maybe some game that is universally praised that you would look like an ass saying is bad.

Deus Ex and basically every Obsidian game (that are always fundamentally broken in some way). It makes no sense.

"Tomb Raider is a bad game"
"Why?"
"Read the reviews"
"Didn't the reviews give the game 8's and 9's and say the positives outweighed the negatives overall?"
"Yeah, it's bad"
"Have you played it even?"
"No"
"??????"
"I still may buy it though"
It was good while it lasted, Action/Adventure with puzzles.
Yeah. I think by now his tag is actually a sarcasm by moderators.

"Tomb Raider is a game. It has been in production for 4 years. Properly applied, that's how long a good console should last. So Tomb Raider, it's true, you have gotten these scores."

Shit everyone cancel your pre-orders!
Guys, it's okay...
The stake that sticks up gets hammered down.Or maybe we stop trying to turn every thread where he posts in in a thread about him, it's equally tiresome.
So it seems like, while the game is a good game - as a standalone title - it isn't a "good" Tomb Raider game. That's about what I expected, though it's nevertheless very disappointing.
I hope Crystal Dynamics eventually makes another Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light game. I don't want the old Tomb Raider style of games to be dead.

Speaking of Hitman I find it funny how everyone is throwing the "you need to play it before saying its bad" line yet again when I was 100% right about that game. It's proof that if you pay attention to what's going on you can accurately make a judgement. We don't live in the era where games only get into a magazine every couple months and that's all we see or hear about it until release.
If you wait a couple of days there'll doubtless be a Digital Foundry face-off on Eurogamer that answers your question comprehensively.
Guys, it's okay...
