I don't see why people keep speculating that this is off their new arcade board (if it exists)...
Unless I'm mistaking Full Auto, Chrome Hounds, and Condemned were also shown in real time on this very same hardware during this presentation...So unless they retooled X360 games to the arcade board it seems obvious that these are next gen 360 demo reels.

Why they chose to show this behind closed doors baffles me. With the meh showing of everythiong else this would've been the perfect time to get much needed exposure for Sega's next gen titles.

I've never understood the reason why companies choose to show stuff behind closed doors...make no freakin sense. I can't complain too much, though, as I had to wait about 20+ minutes or so before I got in to watch the demos.

Unfortunately, at the entrance to the theater, there was a sign prohibiting the filming of this. I don't know if one will show up anytime soon. Hopefully, Sega will release this from their end.

These videos are shit. I appreciate the people that went to the trouble of recording it but I can't make out anything. It SEEMS like it's cool though.

Now why wouldn't Sega release a direct feed of this? I realize that the correct answer is "they're Sega" but fuck balls. What the hell are they waiting for? It's not like Sega couldn't use a little hype.

Except this has been showing since the 17th and every day after...And it featured non Arcade titles (Full Auto, Condemned, and Chrome Hounds; Which Sega is only publishing) running on the same hardware. Add to that the previous Virtua Fighter (OXMUK) and Sonic (Kikizo?) on Xbox 360 rumours and it's not so simply dismissed.

However, it did reiterate that the footage shown was not pre-rendered. It had all been rendered on the fly utilizing the Xbox 360 system, and "could be a lot closer than you think." After watching the presentation, I for one can't wait.

Seeing how all this demos are running only in xbox360 HW right now, I think it would be very stupid to discard the graphic engine and rework it for other consoles exclusively.

If he had, he would have had to check his viewfinder, which would mean being escorted out of the theater. They were quite strict about this, which is probably why you've not seen better quality footage already.

Sonic 360, DOA4, VF5, Winning Eleven, eM, Kameo, PGR3, etc... what a nice Japanese 360 launch if that were the lineup :)

i saw this show today and im gonna have to say that VF is probably not VF5.

the models look like updated VF4 models so im guessing it might be some sort of upgraded final tuned? im not sure, either way don't expect a real new vf to come out on home consoles first.

yeah, the VF models were good but not awesome.. HOTD zombies too were only good, but then it scrolls back and shows a bazillion of them on the floor below you, that was cool. Afterbuner was awesome, and so was sonic.

not to be left out, the mech game looks very cool, i hope it makes launch and has multi or coop

couldn't tell shit from those videos. of course they look good. i mean, the way you guys are acting the past few days is like all next gen games look like crap! hell most of them are orders of magnitude (tm) above this gen games.
aside from PD0 i havent seen any crap looking games.

I'm so lost.. sega is going to head straight into the ground next gen.. i'm afraid they won't be left much longer..
Lets see:

-The Xbox Userbase shunned Sega. Virtually all their non-sports titles sold like total crap
-Sega no longer owns a sports division
-The Xbox 360 userbase will once again be screwed in japan


So why sega, are you going head first into 360 development when its very obvious they won't sell... *sigh*

Don't put niche titles like Jet Set Radio Future and GunValkryie on there and expect them to sell. Not when you have VF4 on PS2 and Sonic on GC. That's why. I mean Shenmue is the shit, but they need more big name titles. I copped JSRF, but it is still a niche title.

Or perhaps developers feel that it's better to use the increased hardware power to put more enemies onscreen, instead of just making each enemy more detailed. IMO, seeing entire armies clash onscreen is far more impressive than seeing a handful of characters in a narrow corridor somewhere, even if those characters do look almost photorealistic.

if every person that bitched about "insert Sega title here" not being on their system of choice had just owned up and bought the damn games/system that they were out on we wouldn't be seeing all these "Sega is doomed on Xbox" posts. Everyone complains that Sega was shit this gen because they focused on just the PS2/GC titles. PDOrta, JSRF, HotD3, GunValkyrie (despite the wierd controls), Outrun 2, Sega Gt 2002, and Shenmue 2 were awesome games. And hell their worst titles for the system (Crazy Taxi 3 and ToeJam and Earl 3) were still quite playable if a bit bland.

Bah...at least I did my part and supported them.

Are all sequals and big name titles other then the hugeness that is Virtua Fighter.
None of them are any smaller then the ones shown behind closed doors this week.

Yeahz, GunValkryie was a small and unknown.
JetSet to a less extent cause it was on the dreamcast.

PS2 had:
Virtual Fighter and Shinobi

is the vf shown actually vf5? or one of the vf4 variations?

i don't know if i want to buy an x360 at launch but if there's vf5 close to launch i probably will. if it's just final tuned then i might not, it's debatable
