correct about everything
i've seen a lot of praise of lloris, but to me rui patricio seemed to easily be the best goalie in the tournament. shame lloris will probably get all the credit for half the results.

He was hurt on the Eder shot. TSN showed the free kick and the lead up to the goal and Lloris was hurt on the free kick, looks hurt the entire time up until the Eder shot. On the replay he doesn't move a lot of ground on the shot, probably due to the injury on the free kick.

It's absolutely bizarre. All the English guys are saying "tournament sucks, blah blah, no good teams." The only respectful guys are Ballack and the other plays, and Martinez to some extent. `

probably wouldn't have saved it anyway. but it's not like the last five minutes is all that matters. lloris was very good, but patricio was sublime.

I wonder if Eder knew and wanted to test him or he just realized he had nowhere to go and might as well take the shot.

Congratulations to Portugal, could see just how much it meant to Ronaldo at the end and with his sideline antics.

They weren't the most exciting team, but they didn't lose once and were extremely solid as a unit.

I wish we could get a team effort like that with the English team.

I don't know why everybody wants French media to be salty, I only heard congratulations to Portugal. Sure many are disappointed, but everybody says it's a fair victory over here.

I'm with you, and last I remember so was the majority of French people when asked about it.
Guy would have been toxic in this team, and we probably wouldn't have had such a nice atmosphere to beat Germany or maybe even Ireland.

I mean, that was just a pretty wicked shot. The defender is blocking off the initial sight of the ball until it goes under him, it's curling away from Lloris, and it takes two bounces, and in particular the second bounce really seemed to juice out of his reach.

Congratulation to Portugal. Good team spirit and good defending wins you games.

Having said that, the quality of this tournament from top to bottom have been incredibly weak. Even the top teams have been playing rubbish, alot of misplaced passes, awful wing plays and even terrible defending in some cases.

Can't wait for the club football to come back because this have been rubbish.

the aftermath of this match is about the entire tournament, not just today. it's silly to say ronaldo is taking credit for something he didn't deserve when he either scored or assisted 6 out of the 9 goals portugal scored in the tournament.

Yeah, just saw on Facebook a picture of my Portuguese friend out in the Paris street, next to his Portuguese wife, drinking a Portuguese beer with a big ass grin on their face: can't stay salty. ^^
