I hope Italy vs Germany is the most boring game ever so you guys can shut up with the narrative that Portugal is boring and doesn't deserve to be here.

Let me quote Baristan Selmy from GoT.

"Rhaegar fought honorably. Rhaegar fought bravely. Rhaegar died."

Impressed with what I have seen of Wales this tournament but hoping they go down in flames tonight. My fantasy eleven squad in our office contest is depending on it. :)

Belgium has an really impressive arsenal up front, just hoping they don't slip up in the defense.

Even if Italy vs Germany end up as one of the boring match, it does not suddenly change Portugal match become not boring. I never said that Portugal does not deserve to stay on semi though. Football is based by luck too so, it is not shocking to see Portugal rise up till now.

I would be SHOCKED though if Portugal end up reaching final without a single win.

I am picking Belgium, Italy, France there....... i guess i should prepare my heart for the opposite to happen.T_T

Worst football tournament I've ever seen

No way. Italy and Germany games have been absolutely entertaining. I also liked Iceland vs England there. Just for the shear amount of fail coming from England team there.T_T

No way? This is easily the worst shit I have ever seen. Name a tournament that was worse than this. Any UEFA Cup shitfest was more fun.

Well, it's a shame we got eliminated but at least we fought to the end and achieved our best result in decades and for the first time in my life our outlook on the future of our national team is positive rather than 'how can we embarrass ourselves any further'. So that's something. I'm proud of our team, we played well and got eliminated fair and square.

That said, I don't think Potugal deserves to get any further. It was unfair they got eliminated by Spain in 2012 and it will be unfair if they manage to win it this time.

At least we can still get Wales-Iceland final....

I'm still amazed at the mental gymnastics at play to discredit Portugal, and those Greece 2004 comparisons, that's the Mt. Everest of delusions.

None of my Welsh friends can believe that, as an Englishman, I'll be supporting Wales against Belgium. They simply do not understand this mentality.

As a Welshman, I'll give you a big cwtch for supporting us.

So with Vertonghen out have our odds improved?

I'd like Wales to win just to see the ronaldo bale battle.

Also Iceland would have a better chance beating one of those two

Eh, not by much. Even if we assume his absence means Wales can create chances more often, which is a big stretch, you still have to deal with Belgium's attacking threat. Speaking of which, I'm not so sure Ashley Williams is truly fit to play.

Yep it's been bad.

Who has even been the best player so far?

Nobody has been consistent.

Buffon has been absolutely consistent.

Trio BBC had been consistent.

Motta had been consistent in doing nothing.

Germany Boateng and Kross had also been consistent.

Neuer also had been consistent.

If you only watch England, i can see that view here.

Giaccherini is also playing wonderfully and he's running like a madman, i think it's the only irreplaceable guy besides Buffon and BBC for Conte, i would not be surprised if he decides to take him to chelsea next season.

You're right. Greece never took a game to penalties and only drew two games, one of which they won with a silver goal against the tournament favorites.

Hopefully he is fit enough to deal with the many chances Belgium will no doubt take! Still, it's just amazing we are in the QF so I'll enjoy the game no matter what the result.

Mind you I'd fancy us against Portugal...

Tonight's game is going to be tense because of our weakened defense. I hope it's enough to hold Bale. Then if we make it through, at least Vermaelen is back.

He was useless against Italy. Let's see how they fare against an actual quality side.

He did not shine against Italy but he was of the few to not make mistakes in that game. I would argue he wasn't the problem. All the successives matches have been good to really great for him since then.

He tried to somehow run and shoot through Italian defenders multiple times like it's the EPL. Guy thinks he's Messi.

Nah that's Dries Mertens you're describing. Haha

Found Eden to be less reckless than that. Either way, can't put my finger on much better perfomance this tournament. Personal opinion of course. Actually not fan of Eden's recent performance outside of that.
