Watching CohhCarnage play the game and i like what i see. I think there are a bit too many cutscenes, compared to the first game, it seems you cant play more than 5mins without some kind of cutscene or convo.
Still there have been some pretty epic story cutscenes so far.
Its actually made me install the first game again lol, my third playthrough.

Was playing so much Sifu I got those controls embedded into my brain. Changed the heavy attack controls to Square and the dodge to R2. Circle to crouch. Feels MUCH better now

I just refunded the game and will either wait for it to improve or release on PC.
Performance mode is a joke in my opinion. Playing UC4 on PS5 next to it is night and day difference.

Why is it that every HUD option has an Always Off option except weapons and potions. The description it has on the right in the menu even says Always Off is an option.

I onestly spended 10 euros more to avoid that problem entirely, also i fucking hate when the ps5 try to download the ps4 version of the game every damn time i turn on the console.
For the sequel of my gotg, money well spent.

I've tried both extensively and going with performance.
Biggest difference is clarity in further away objects/grass/rocks. 60 is just too smooth to ignore. Either way no one can go wrong.

I watched my friend who is a reviewer play for a few hours last week. The graphics are great, but everything else is so shit, especially the characters. But I must say that I rarely like western games. My February games are KoF 15 and Elden Ring.

It's hard to say when people aren't saying what display they're using. On the C9, it looks amazing in perf mode. Resolution is great too but I can't do 30 after tasting 60 on this. So fluid.

So I am not sure if you are supposed to see something download (I did see the patch download last night, but I don't know if that was related to the graphical fixes), but I did just start and quit the game twice and then went back in. I feel like it DID fix what I was seeing last night though. I specifically moved the camera around and looked at the grass/foliage looking for the edge sharpening with the brightening/darkening as you stop and move. It looked significantly lower than what I remembered from last night, and I thought overall it was making the actual game come across much nicer.
So, so far much happier with the visuals. Still don't think it looks "better" than Demons or Ratchet, and I still think performance mode is a blurry mess (there is no way it even looks close to what a native 1800p would look like, 1440p on demons souls trounces the overall look), but resolution mode is razor freakin' sharp and looking good currently. I would totally buy a PS5 Pro. I wish we could get these games with resolution mode at 60fps. I don't care if the thing was a thousand dollars. I know that would be extremely niche but I think these games are sort of getting a disservice done to them.
Looking forward to playing more now.

Love the underwater exploration. I was worried about how it'd control since it feels wank in most games that attempt it but here it just feels right.

Oh I'm pretty sure you'll be able to play it at 4K 60FPS with maxxed settings on one platform in a few months.

Haha, absolutely but I just don't bother with that stuff. Maybe at some point I would if things were close to day and date. I know the MS side operates that way of course ... If PS did too, I honestly would consider just doing PC and Switch.

Months? No chance. But I’m waiting, unless a significant update arrives for perf mode. Not sure wtf is going on, AA solution seems borked. On my CX, perf mode seemed off even after restarts. The grass/blight is incredibly noisy and off. The previous game felt better to me. Just my opinion.

Yes, the blight is really poorly implemented. The reason is that all the sprite animations, like fire, smoke, water splashes and red blight is at least half in resolution in perf mode, this make the red blight flicker like crazy. To me it feels like they've prioritized 30fps 4K and the 60 fps is just riding on the PS4 implementation with double fps. I'm sure they could have given the important sprite animations a bit more love on the PS5.
The checkerboard implementation is not working well for distant foliage or details and edges in general, the image is very unstable and shimmer a lot to other checkerboard games. Maybe a 1440p with good TAA and then just upscaled would have looked better.

How large is your screen and how far away are you sitting. I'm sitting 2m from my 75" and the shimmering and blurrier image in performance mode is as obvious as night and day to me.
It's really annoying, the unstable image of perf mode makes me switch over to res mode to check things out and compare but 30 fps is nigh unplayable and I'll end up back playing it at 60.

This game looks way, way better in resolution. The gap will only wider as the gen gets older - its begun.
