While speaking at a Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, EA’s CFO recently revealed that both Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 5 will release some time before Christmas. He also revealed that Mass Effect Andromeda was delayed to 2017…

Maybe I misremember, but I dont recall Battlefield ever being marketed as a strategy game.

EA considers their large map, rock-paper-scissors with vehicles FPS games to be strategy inspired FPS titles, as opposed to something like an arena shooter, arcade shooter, or infantry only game.

If you think about how Battlefield works, a lot of that is similar to how units interact in an RTS title, except each unit is a different player (or sometimes multiple players for vehicles).

With ME delayed to Q1 2017, they'll need more than one big game to bump up their Q4 earnings report. Falling under their own projections from earlier this year would not please the shareholders.
