Only really interested in Melee. Not digging USF4 at all, so I would either prefer a previous version or 3rd Strike. Apart from that, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R > Xrd.

I'm new to this, kinda new to GAF. It's my first created topic. If A Pretty Panda still wants to create his/her OT that's fine, we can move over there. I just created this because the tournament is happening right now, and there's no OT created, although they're a little late with some streams.

Holy cow! Had no idea it was in my hometown. I live like 30 minutes away from the venue. I think I may pick up a spectator badge and watch some of the fights live and possibly play SFV and Tekken 7 if the lines ain't too long.

Anyone know if they sell sticks at this event? I would love to get a nice stick for my PC.

Madcatz sells sticks on the floor, and there will be discount codes where you can buy online.

yes, 3rd Strike would be such a blast to watch. All those out of practice people playing turtle chun mirror matches for a whole weekend. It would be like non-stop evo moment rule 34s

3S and CvS2 tournaments still happen from time to time. But they are side tournaments which usually finish in a couple of hours.

Protip: If you're into Persona 4 Arena, keep an eye out for Lord Knight and Bananaken late in the bracket. You'll probably see some new stuff unless they're really holding it in for Evo.

Eh don't worry about it. People make a big deal about these things but honestly no one is going to be looking at the OP for more than 10 seconds anyway.

Won't be able to watch anything but Fightermania today probably :(

This is always one of the best tournaments of the year. Absolutely stacked with talent. Great work from Jebailey (and nice OP)!

Last year, Melee had 250ish entrants but this turn out was quite surprising and unfortunately a cap had to made. Smash4 hit the cap and Melee is close too. This is the first time Smash has dominated CEO though.

This is the first year Smash took over. Last year numbers were good for Melee but USF4 still had Melee beat by quite a lot(something like 400 to 250). But yeah, it's a different story this year. I do think USF4 has a pretty good chance of hitting the cap when they include late registrants. But if their were no cap, Melee and Smash 4 probably would have both had 600+ each which is pretty amazing since they're not receiving the kind of support the USF4 community is receiving from Capcom.

Divekick will be happening at 2PM EST

Fighter Mania III at 8PM

The main event today though is doubles, including finals. I'm not sure about other games but both Smash4 doubles and Melee Doubles will be happening all day today, and planned to be finished today.

A Melee exhibition is also planned for today at 8PM, the "Norcal vs Florida" crewbattle being the headliner.

There should be team tournaments for the majority of the day.

I see that Fightermania is at 8pm ET but I can't find any information on what it'll contain. Maybe someone else can help flesh it out. I wonder what games will be featured.
