Please, don't cry. Instead name a single game that you think will look better than Horizon 2 and GoW at their release.

I don't know bro. I think you're giving Ubisoft too much credit. I've learned from hard experiences not to make that mistake. And the destruction in Horizon looks pretty incredible, to be honest. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I see that the first time.

Anyway, I think God of War will look better than Avatar when all is said and done. SSM is also using the SSD for seamlessly pulling in 4K high-polygon textures. The level design won't be current-gen, of course, but from a purely graphical POV, I think God of War on PS5 will be better than Avatar on PS5, despite being cross-gen.
Lets hope so. I want to believe.

Just thought of something. It will most likely be 60 fps on the PS5 so they will waste half of the GPU trying to run it at 2x the framerate. I suspect at best it will look like Demon Souls. There is no way we are getting photorealistic visuals at 60 fps on a 10 tflops console. Maybe at 1080p, but not at 1440p or native 4k.

You're the fanboy, claiming Sony is dead when they are breaking gaming history records of revenue, consoles sold, games sold and in the recent months they made the announcements and exclusive game releases with great reviews I pointed out plus many other I forgot.

I never said that because they released and announced stuff it invalidates any criticism. I said it's bullshit to claim their are 'dead' when they have been released a good amount of recent exclusives and made a fair amount of good announcements or showcases of cool games.

I think it's ok to say you personally don't like their recent exclusives, or the announcements they made and that you'd prefer other ones instead of them. But that doesn't make sense to claim they are dead.
Me, a fanboy? A fanboy of what? Ah, I guess you assumed I’m an Xbox fanboy, because I dare to criticise your precious favorite company who can do anything you will still cheer for it. Sorry to say, but my main was PS4 and now I have a PS5 and no current gen Xbox. All that you think is good about them is indeed good. But how those things invalidate criticisms about other things? See, that’s why you are a fanboy.

Sorry to make you look crazy in public like this; but a few posts ago you JUST said a fucking "Spiderman 2 title card" could've made Sony's (imaginary) E3 conference better than Nintendo and Microsoft's E3 conferences.

But the CGI announcement trailers (which take some actual effort if you didnt know) for Contraband, The Outer Worlds 2 and Redfall just "dont count" to you, huh?

The double standard is hilarious.
I bet you went bonkers for that God Of War 'title card' at the last Playstation Showcase as well. 😂

I get it. When ya aint got shit to show, just make fun of how the other party announces theirs.

The Microsoft e3 conference was underwhelming

  • State of Decay 3 CGI Trailer -> early in pre-Production
  • Perfect Dark CGI Trailer-> early in Pre-Production
  • Everwild- Reboot-> "Gameplay Ideas Still Being Discussed Says Rare Studio Head"
  • Hellblade 2: CGI Trailer-> "very early in development, based on an update from developer Ninja Theory, which says the game has not yet gone into full production."
  • Avowed: CGI Trailer-> "has already lost multiple lead devs/designers"
  • Fable CGI Trailer -> 30 Sek
  • The Outer Worlds 2 -> CGI Trailer
  • Red Fall -> CGI Trailer

This is such a fucking depressing prediction of what Sony will show. Not saying you’re wrong, but no Ragnarok? Nothing to set the Internet on fire? Those are all awfully boring TBH

My expectations are firmly in check. Just seems odd that we saw a fancy text graphic and everyone is expecting to see a vertical slice of gameplay. Best to hope for maybe a voice-over of the story and a couple of cg animations? At which point why show anything?

I'd find it really strange that they wouldn't plug games releasing soon as well (kena, gta, stray, death stranding, deathloop).

There might be a surprise and ragnarok might be it but I'm just putting my realistic head on.

No, I am saying that everything that Sony has shown this Summer, if put together in an event (even without anything else), would still have made it better than the E3 shows we had. Because (as I said) Horizon's gameplay would have been enough.

You're either stupid or a troll if you think Redfall/Contraband CGI was better than Horizon's 15-minute raw gameplay.

Buddy, if if was a fifth, we'd all be drunk.

If Microsoft announced Everwild, Hellblade 2, Project Mara, Fable, Forza Motorsport, Indiana Jones, State of Decay 3, Perfect Dark, Avowed, Contraband, The Outer Worlds 2, Redfall and Forza Horizon 5 in one conference, it would be the best conference ever, bro! 👍
But no...Microsoft simply had enough material to announce almost all that stuff within a year and a half and STILL show up with new announcements for E3.

And yes, I'll gladly take 3 (unexpected) CGI game announcements for Contraband, The Outer Worlds 2 and Redfall within an actual event with other games like Starfield, Halo multiplayer and Forza Horizon 5 shown over an isolated gameplay showcase (not in some imaginary epic E3 conference in your head) for something that was announced (with CGI, mind you) a year prior.

How many moneyhat annoucements are we predicting? I'm thinking 4 total: FFVII Remake 2, one other Square Enix game, Street Fighter 6, and Bioshock.

I want to believe but after seeing how Horizon devs are pretty much only using it for hero lighting waves, and some extra detail here and there, I am not keeping my hopes up. Do you think SSM will make two different versions of the game? One for PS5 with photorealistic lighting like Avatar and one for PS4 using the old lighting engine from the 2018 game?

I highly doubt that Kratos will have a different model across two games. It's just too much work and something we have never seen before in a cross gen game. I would like to think SSM might be the first one to make a brand new game on the PS5 and then downport it to PS4 using last gen tech, but after seeing how the wizards over at GG essentially ported the same game on PS5 with minor enhancements, I am not holding my breath.
I think you'll definitely see a MASSIVE difference visually between both versions, and the PS5 version will look 10x better than the Avatar footage we saw or whatever game's coming out next year, remember what HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 said. There's a reason why I'm most hyped about GoW being shown off than anything else Sony has in store, Sony Santa Monica's about to graphically SET THE BAR for everyone with the PS5. Just 6 more days...

Its been 3.5 years since God of War came out. That's as long now as the gap between GOW Ascension and GOW reboot reveal in 2016. No reason they'd only be at the point they only have a CG animation to show

Ragnarok needs to be shown at some point and people expect them to come out guns blazing because thats what built so much hype for GOW 2018. But they could do an ingame trailer of course

Sony Santa Monica generally like debuting their games with real time in-engine gameplay so that's most likely what we'll get.

Cry, eh? Relax, buddy.
In terms of visuals in 2022?

Right off the bat, from whats been announced, I bet: S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Starfield (which will be some feat, taking its size into account) will look visually better.

I have no doubt that there will be more than a couple in-engine or vertical slice trailers from both Sony and Microsoft (before the end of 2022) that will easily look better than Forbidden West and Ragnarok as well.

Edit: Forza Horizon 5 already looks better but people dont like comparing driving games to 'normal games' for whatever reason.

Wait, what was announced as CGI a year prior? Horizon Forbidden West?

Going to be exciting to see what is shown. Essentially Sony has released everything that has been shown so far, Ratchet, Spiderman, Returnal, Demons souls, Bugs snax and so on.
So what is left? Showing off GOW, more of horizon, GT 7 for the safe bets for 2022 . After that we have the rumors, like the last of us multiplayer, whatever bend is working on now, Blue point working on now/ added to Sony 1st party and so on.
After all that , we are still in the beginning of the gen, there should be other new IPS we have no idea about, can't wait to see some/ all of this.

The Death Stranding DC trailer will not be on the PS event.

Edit: *probably*

Why isn't Sony allowing this Final "Kojima" cut trailer at this event? Now he has to release it one day before?.............This is weird.

Because Kojima has probably made a 10 minutes trailer that is best suited to get its own spotlight and has little place in a really fast paced 40 minutes event focused on new games. Death Stranding is a 2019 game.

But we already have a handful of titles coming close to photorealism on current hardware, some even in real-time.
How can you make such a pessimistic claim about where things will be in 25-30 years from now, given the current trajectory? That's so absurd lol.
