Most of my hopes and wants so far have been for IPs we haven't seen from them for a while. If we are going to see completely new things or new IPs, I hope we are getting something in the action/adventure genre, perhaps a new IP in the same space as Prince of Persia/God of War etc.

What I'd like to see:
- Sony gained rights to all Konami IP (some teasers and/or roadmap)
- PS Now upgrades
- God of War 2 gameplay
- Astrobot, Returnal and R&C DLC
- Spider-Man 2 tease
- Twisted Metal reboot
- New IP, new surprises
Basically a good mix of things we haven't seen before and are coming soon plus what's coming next for the platform.

Gameplay demos? They have been showing CG trailers for God's sake...Pre-rendered trailers (Fable, State of Decay, Perfect Dark, Hellblade, That Project Omen..). Therein lies the criticism formulated by many, not in the absence of gameplay sequences. Nice try!

I think we might bee seeing the new Sony at this conference. And I dont think many here will like the direction of new Sony. I expect a lot of multiplayer games. GaaS games. And games we typically dont associate with Sony. I.e., non-single player story driven games.
We have been hearing a lot of chatter about Sony hiring mp devs lately, and Jim Ryan's investor slides pointed to them shifting to more GaaS titles. Jimbo has been in charge for over 2.5 years now and we might start seeing his true vision for Sony's first party right about now.
I think everyone is expecting TLOU Factions, but I wouldnt be surprised if we see GG's new IP as a multiplayer or GaaS title. I also expect some kind of Battle Royale game from a Sony studio. Insomniac Games was recently hiring people for a multiplayer Systems Designer.

4 titles? That's a good number, imo. I am not a multiplayer fan either, but I know that there are millions of people who enjoy competitive titles. As long as Sony strikes a good balance, everybody should be happy...

I think you pretty much got it right there, but u can say sony gonna plug deathloop again,and think we will get another horizion 2 trailer i dont think ps+ or now will get a update and think if we get gow2 gameplay then i think there prob be one indie suprise what we not seen and one sony first party shown off in similar to gow 2 announcment we got last yr

Sometimes one side tries to derail the other when they are doing an event. Is there something that Xbox will try during the showcase to take some of the wind out of Sony's sails?
Unlikely. You are just more likely to lose any marketing to the main event so it is better to spread out. The xbox tgs show is 3 weeks later as well but expect smaller things there as well.

Well, if SONY releases a new hardware, talk 24/7 how great it is, hot much more powerfull it is and show only pre-rendered cgi to support that... sure.

Even in the job listing you posted above, they're also looking for a story lead, to me that reads it'll have sp and mp like Resistance

Nah, they know they have a gap in their first party for MP games so they're trying to fill it, but they're not stupid, they know their real USP is the very high quality single player games they practically have a monopoly on.
They wouldn't have bought Housemarque (and, apparently Bluepoint) if they wanted to switch away from single player.

I don't see what's wrong with announcing a new game with no gameplay. I would criticize an event or showcase that shows very little gameplay in total, though. I mean, it's ok to show a CG trailer for a (new) game or two, but that can't be the case for 80%+ of the show, especially if there are games supposedly releasing the next year and all they have for you (even if new), it's a simple teaser that gives you no idea of the gameplay.

One or two MP titles I’d love them to bring back such as Socom and especially Warhawk. They do great with the story based games, a little bit more in other areas wouldn’t do the portfolio no harm.

I think the only realistic chance of PC announcements there is if it was connected to a new PS5 announcement so maybe if they were to announce and show a trailer for a PS5 Uncharted Anthology then they may also mention on the screen at the end that it will also be on PC.
I'd think they would probably be more likely to announce a PC version a little later though.

Wonder if we see a first look at Spider-Man in Avengers. Crystal said it was still coming this year and I personally air on the side of it being a little too soon for anything full fledged Insomniac Spider-Man to be shown.

I swear to god I can totally see another 10 minute Kojima fap fest trailer for Death Stranding just because it seems nobody can help themselves. And like most others I am so tired of seeing Deathloop and the other same things over and over.
It has been a very long time, they need to move the needle and that seems hard to do in 40 minutes if they spend time rehashing crap we have been seeing everywhere.

I agree with most of your comment here. One question though, why does everyone think Guerillas multiplayer project is separate from Forbidden West? Has there been anything that's indicated as much?
Guerilla is on record saying they planned on Zero Dawn having a coop mode. It seems plausible to me that they took another crack at it with Forbidden West no?
