Does FF7 Remake support VRR for the quality mode? That game felt good at 30fps, so if you can get even 40 it would probably be fantastic.
I think it would need a patch to be supported at that level. Unpatched games will just not stutter.Does FF7 Remake support VRR for the quality mode? That game felt good at 30fps, so if you can get even 40 it would probably be fantastic.
Does enabling or forcing vrr lower resolution? Trying this out with Elden Ring.

Right, I guess I meant does it unlock the quality mode frame rate so that it could go higher than 30? I just threw out 40 because that appears to be a level most 30 locked games can reach. The 40 fps mode doesn't require VRR, requires a 120 Hz display, even if it doesn't support VRR.
Unfortunately FFVII R doesn't currently have a 40 fps mode, that's something developers have to patch in every game they want to run at 40 fps, since they have to change the fps cap from 30 to 40 fps.
Oh, when people said it support VRR I'd assumed that meant it received a patch.I think it would need a patch to be supported at that level. Unpatched games will just not stutter.

I've tried it with Lost Judgment and the effect is transformative in the 40k 30fps mode.
Previously camera rotation at 30fps created so much judder that while I usually prefer extra fidelity if it's worth it, I thought the 30fps was kinda unplayable and I played it at 60fps.
Now with VRR that judder is gone.
FF7R Intergrade also feels much smoother at 30fps.
Absolutely. I played the PS4 version on PS5 in BC. Hit some backlog and GT7 and MLB. Now when I replay I can play the PS5 version and get a graphics bump and smoothness.I must say Elden Ring PS5 version now feels much better with VRR (only in performance mode obviously, VRR range being 48-120), at least where I am in Lyendell. I played all the game on PS4 Pro version, which was locked 60 so great too, but you gain slightly better visuals that way.
This particular PS5 game certainly is one of those which needed VRR with its unstable framerate.
Sonys VRR implementation does absolutely nothing in 30 fps games. It has a range of 48-120hz
I used this one from a techradar article as base. I believe I ended up lowering 1 click on 100hz.Any EQ recommendations?

Is VRR cool now?
Shame that wasn't the argument though isnt it.Apparently Insomniac's games in performance mode thanks to VRR run up to 100FPS now. I wish ethomaz was still here to yet again try to convince us that locked 60 is better.
Lmao who the fuck is arguing that below 60 with vrr is better than locked 60Shame that wasn't the argument though isnt it.
The argument was that below 60 with vrr was worse, which it is.
Theres literally been one game prior to ps5 getting vrr that managed to pull off a higher frame rate with vrr enabled and an uncapped framerate. 1.
Who knew ps5 had that much performance left on the table to guarantee a locked frame rate.
You are going to still hear about it because VRR improves the gaming experience on PlayStation in ways people like you fail to comprehend.Great, this probably means that I will never ear about it anymore!
I have had VRR/free sync on my PCs for years now, I have nothing else to say on this subject, it's borderline useless on 60hz panels. You are going to still hear about it because VRR improves the gaming experience on PlayStation in ways people like you fail to comprehend.

Oh, what did he get banned for? The ban list doesn't link to a post.

I didn't have many interactions with him, but I have to say on the few that I did where he was blatantly, objectively, wrong about something, he did act like quite the knob. And he dug his heels into his wrongness. it was like talking to a brick wall. If he was like that everywhere, I imagine he was just too much of a headache in general.Supposedly 20 something warnings, a couple of thread bans and some direct communique from mods to him, this is based on the other thread.
What do you expect the lower bounds to be? Frame rate is frame rate. VRR just does not help frame rate.Isn’t it a pretty major disappointment for this not to help with 30 fps gaming?

Do you think VRR should help 15fps?
What about 1?
Clearly there is a point where it's not going to "help." Not sure why 30 would be a disappointment.

Press the green button 8 times. I’m seriousAnyone remember which buttons I would hit on my remote to get the info screen to come up on my LG c9?
Why are you so insecure that you have to proactively come up with shit to be antagonistic about? The vrr ship has sailed. Next stop folders anyone?
Speaking of, have we heard of any future updates to move the bandwidth to 40 or 48 Gbps, or are we forever stuck at 32?At least with 120 Hz you are throwing away half the color resolution, because the PS5 has to fall back to 422 chroma subsampling due to the bandwidth limitation (32 Gbps) of the HDMI chipset. But afaik Elden Ring currently still has a 60 FPS cap. So this should not be a problem in this case.
As others have said, you should try the Fine Tune Dark Areas option of the C9.
Pretty sure it's a hardware limitation.Speaking of, have we heard of any future updates to move the bandwidth to 40 or 48 Gbps, or are we forever stuck at 32?

Is the 8K patch next Sony?
My dude writes a bait warrior bullshit, and get triggered by my harmless comment. So, because of the idiotic way that Sony has implemented 120hz and VRR on their system, Elden Ring is still not as smooth as it should be on a PS5. They care more about their television specs than they do their Playstation customers. The VRR range is locked at 48hz instead of 40hz, they didn't implement 120hz from a system level, which means no latency improvements, and they never added LFC, which means that this entire thing is significantly gimped compared to PC or Xbox.
So, basically, they made us wait well over a year for a half assed implementation. Awesome.

You guys and your constant bait and warrior bullshit are what's literally creating terrible discussions on this forum.
Activate on ps5 and already forget it exists. For now own people who activate won't even think about it. It will be forgotten because its on the system level. The same way people forgot about the booster thing for gamesThe VRR ship has just docked to the Sony-lands, we're gonna get a lot of new folks onboard !

The DF video hasn't hit yet. It's coming.Glad we won’t have VRR being used as poor quality console warring that’s for sure.
I'm loving all my fellow Blue brethren coming around to VRR now.
Love y'all !
