Barbarian is a blast, already leveled up to 34 now just doing dungeons and whispering tree. I went 1-34 in no time compared to my druid
I was about to start with the barbarian but the druid looked way more diversified, you have werewolf form, bear form, thor power, rock powers etc.

Everytime i see a barbarian run it's just screaming to get buffs and spin to win...

I asked the same, but consenus is the time you lose levelling in 2 doesn't offset the 20% xp gain. Maybe for a specific class it's ok. I'm guessing wt2 is the best starting place for alts once you have a few points, altars etc for your new char.

Wt1 has had some dicey spikes though as you're starting to get your build together. I wouldn't say it's hard, but you have to pay attention to a lot, like healing, passives, resource, adds, poison etc. I think I've probably died about 10 times on wt1 - usually a combo of crowd, low resource, cool downs, enemy aoe poison.
I started on tier 2 just to have some challenge, i didn't want to steamroll everything.

Yeah that's a legit reason. I played the closed beta on wt2, made it to 20 ok. Vhernard kind of set the tone that you actually need to be aware at all times and some builds were a bit crap against aoe, projectiles.

I just couldn't be arsed with the difficulty plus the grind. Grind to get powerful then roll wt3. Just preference though right.

I just got to the start of act vi. Act v was long man and I felt I was in those places too long to be thrust upon you as a 'quest'.

And regarding legendary, so we get a codex of base legendaries which we keep forever. But I can roll a higher version of that codex from an item. I can then save it, but only use it once afterwards. So its kind of like a library but also has let's you override with a good drop. Good system imo.

Just taking a break, on the cusp of level 45 with my rogue. Is there any higher xp potions than 5%?

Can you elaborate on this a bit? For me it's a bit unclear how to upgrade the aspects you unlocked from dungeons to a higher version. If i understood correctly, those are the base version, but how do you upgrade them? Do the dungeons again on higher tiers?

I honestly think Path of Exile devs must be anxious after this. It will be hard to top.

For me it has to improve A LOT and simplify some systems for me to care about it. Maybe that's why they've been so quiet about it. Chris Wilson is waiting to see what D4 brought to the table before showing it again.

The level of polish is nuts. The gameplay is super tight... hope they take note on presentation as well as the mechanics.

Couldn't even play for an hour last night, had the worst timing (that is I had an hour to play, and couldn't play at all), I started at what looks like 5-10 minutes after people were getting booted and the servers went down. Got to selecting my character and said it was preparing to enter the world or whatever, but just sat there for over 15 minutes with nothing going on.

I feel like they should have some sort of better indication their servers are dead, but oh well. Kinda expected this to happen on the first night, hopefully it goes smoother tonight!

The aspects you get from dungeon completion will always be the lowest version of those aspects. You only get higher rolled versions from regular legendaries that drop from monsters or quest rewards. After a certain level, around lvl 35 I believe, it becomes much harder to rely on the aspects in your codex of power because putting them on new gear starts to cost legendary resources. Using dropped legendaries or ripping the aspect off of a dropped legendary and putting it on new gear is very cheap in comparison in both gold cost and material.

I believe the dungeon aspect system is really only meant to ease people into the game or help fill in aspects that people just have bad luck finding so they can still have viable builds.

Finally came around to finish the campaign at level 52.
Gotta say I'm not happy with how dumb the writing got at the end. Felt overly forced to set up the add-ons, and a few things concerning Lilith just didn't make any sense at all...
Well, still the best campaign a diablo game got so far.

Played for a few hours, Barb (level 19).. and man lower levels are kinda rough. Really fun though. Loving the big damage AOE and mobility.

As for game performance wise.. pretty good. Only one crash and a wierd graphical glitch on a boss. Other than that no issues apart from the very rare stutter from occasionally entering/exiting towns - installed on a fast gen 4 SSD.

And DLSS 3/frame gen is insane on this. With 1440P (Ultra settings) and my fps capped to 144 fps, FG turned on.. my 4070Ti maxes out at 100W.

Played for an hour this morning (EU) and so far it's a smooth experience. Haven't played WoW in 12 years but I love how everything about the interface works in such a similar way that I never had to question how to access whatever menu I needed. Say whatever you want about Blizzard, but their UI's are topnotch.

Continuing tonight after work. Hopefully I can get the campaign done this week so I can focus on co-op with friends!

Honestly, I'm amazed by the game's sheer quality, amount of content and technical performance. I'm not even a fanboy and first to admit some of Blizz's questionable decisions and releases over recent years, but give credit, where credit is due. The devs delivered a great Diablo game, and to me personally the greatest Diablo experience. It feels like a very refined, amplified and matured Diablo. The game feels like a celebration of the franchise and the dev team deserve all the praise.
My druid hit lvl 53 just now and I finished the campaign yesterday. The story has heart, the characters are memorable, the writing and VA are excellent and I like some of the themes being explored and touched. A Diablo (story) hasn't captured me like this before.
I'm now exploring all the areas I skimmed through before & doing endgame content, while playing with clanmates every now & then. I don't want to stop playing, everything still feels fun & engaging. That's quite an achievement for a game, since it takes a lot for me to really commit to a game nowadays.

I wish I had the stamina of you guys lol. Think I've gone from 41 to just below 47 so far today and needed two breaks. Just can't do the long sessions like I used to :*(

Here's my daily cosmetic shop complaint contribuition:

Also, i've tested like 15 builds for Druid (spent like 1 million gold testing) this one is by far the best build available for Druid:

I have no problem with microtransactions, but at least in my case, I would place it in a range of 1-2 dollars for individual complete skins, and at 5$ it should be a fucking bundle.

Those prices are disgusting.

And how do you upgrade aspects from the codex? For example, if you get Aspect A which give 10% dmg Twisted Blades and afterwards you get a drop from a mob with the version 15% dmg, the one from the codex automatically upgrades to 15%?

I had a druid pulverize, it's just basically running around and slamming the ground. All my gear was related to this build and really don't enjoy him.

No. You extract the 15% aspect and store it in your inventory like a consumable.

Then when you get a good drop you're gonna keep and it doesn't have the right aspect, you can replace it with your new aspect (or upgrade your standard codex on the item - but this doesn't upgrade the aspect in the codex).

Let's say you have a 10% dmg aspect from a Dungeon applied to an item;
Then you get a 15% dmg on an item you're not going to use.
Visit the occultist. They will extract the 15% aspect and that goes in your inventory.

Example 1: You can then replace the +10% with the +15% but it removes it from your inventory.
If you wanted to apply an aspect to another item afterwards, you will only be able to apply the 10% until you get another 15% in your inventory
Example 2: You get a great item but the aspect is for an imbuement you don't use. So you'd replace that aspect with the 15% if it's a great item. If it's just an interim piece, you might choose to keep the 15% for later and stick the standard +10 on it.

As they are percent, the aspects will scale with your damage anyway.

TL: DR The aspects in the codex aren't upgradeable (from what I understand). They are base aspects you'll be replacing with better as you level.

I'm respeccing every hour or so to try different things so maybe that's why it feels fresh and varied...

But the class has:

2 melee mode basically
2-3 type of elemental magic
2-3 types of companions
Good survivability

What other class has all this stuff?

The thunderstorm skill seems to be the most fun for now but i like the bear charge and pulverize skills because they send enemy flying (i care about the visual aspect as much as the strict rpg part)

53 bear druid here. I love the playstyle, managing defensive, offensive and bear form still feels fun & dynamic, and more so than early/mid game. Also there are some amazing aspects, like my trample being able to produce 6x landslides, with another 6x with added dmg% added right after (these moves alone, which aren't even part of my moveset, actually do the most damage), while pulverize shoots spikes out the ground and earthen bulwark went from 3 tot 9 (huge) sec cooldown.

Rogue shadow imbuement so far is what it is at. I tried poison trap and not my cup of tea. Just to slow. Shadow imbuement / twisting blades is much faster for my tastes. I've been wanting to try range build..

Do i need to extract aspects from legendaries before finding them inside the loot around the world

Sorry i feel like a super noob:lollipop_squinting:

Got my baby Sorc to level 15 and called it a night. Started on WT2 as I did in that first open beta, and the release game is definitely harder. Not complaining, I just have to be more careful, but it was a bit of a surprise.

If you play a pulverize druid, most aspects are in dungeons and get them when you complete them. The one that converts pulverize to earth is a game changer

Others will be found on items, you extract them. Be sure to salvage legendaries you don't need for components you'll need to imbue your aspects.

No, your codex is filled from the dungeon rewards the first time you complete them. You can browse your codex to see which ones you have.

You only need to extract it if:
:: it's an aspect you're going to use;
:: it's higher than what the aspect from the Dungeon/codex is;
:: it's a world aspect which isn't obtainable through dungeons;

Once you imprint an aspect you took off an item, you can't extract it again just for info.

Ah yes, i only did one of those, it was super fucking good in term of art design, very demonic and fleshy.

Sorry if i ask, but there is no reason to do these dungeons if the aspect they unlock is not for my class right? (I mean except for just getting exp and loot)

And region renown, you want renown to unlock extra skill points and extra potion capacity

I bought a horse on the cash shop, just because it made more sense to buy the Crypt Hunter pack which comes with a horse and 800 platinum and then buy an extra 200 platinum to pay for the legendary upgrade, than just buying the legendary edition upgrade

I know I'll be finishing the battle pass due to how much I'm going to be playing the game, but I feel dirty :messenger_sad_relieved:

I have not tried this yet but if you have a legendary item (obviously with an aspect on it already), can you swap a different legendary aspect on it without destroying the base item? Found an offhand with a crappy aspect on it but it's got high damage/good stats. I suppose I'll find out shortly regardless.

You can, but you need to unlock the aspects by completing the dungeons
