I really got attached to Culverton Smith, I'm really sad that this is it for him.
I really got attached to Culverton Smith, I'm really sad that this is it for him. Also, I thought the twist to his daughter is that he killed and replaced her with someone that looked very similar, just to fuck over Sherlock and ruin her attempt to turn on him.

The drug stuff was definitely all real--it was a way for him to confess his crimes with zero actual risk. Like when he was talking to Lestrade at the end and actually wanted to keep going, but Lestrade was tired and said it had to wait, but him going in about how good it feels. The drugs were just his way of meeting his need to confess without actually being caught or anyone remembering anything.Show redeemed!! So glad they powered back so strong and ... Sherlock-y.
Was all the drug stuff (those rando powerful people being hooked up at the start) all real or stuff imagined by Sherlock? Thats the one thing that made zero sense to me, why some serial killer is hooking up random powerful people to confess to them his crimes. I >think< Sherlock said the dude was confessing his crimes in the morgue to corpses which is why its his favorite room, so that entire opening scene was just Sherlock "imagination room"-ing the experience, but wanted to see if anyone else thought that. But then where did the note come from... or did sister just craft the whole thing from scratch?
Hope the series/season ends up strong with the final episode, now I'm excited again after the disappointing premiere.
Of all the shit I imagined they'd do with Sherrinford, THAT is the last thing I would have thought of. WOW.
When that someone started undressing, I thought for a second that the next thing would be a wig, some voice alterer and fullblown "MORIARTY BITCHES".
Why is everyone calling Moriarty her Watson? Couldn't she just be using Moriarty's death as a platform to get Sherlock's attention?
Yeah, like I know that they've been hinting at the idea of there being a third Holmes for a while, but for some reason I thought that they were hinting that that person was dead as a result of circumstances we'd eventually learn about later on. Probably should have seen it coming that that wouldn't be the case, but for whatever reason I didn't at all. They completely got me. Great stuff. That was really good. I'm not absolutely over the moon like everyone else but I really liked it. I also really liked the twist at the end. I cannot believe I didn't see it coming.

1) She has contacts with the criminal underworld, that's how she knew Culverton.I can't quite tell howSherlock's sister is connected to Culverton. Did she recruit him? The other way around? Why did Culverton give her his daughter's note?
And isCulverton's daughter simply oblivious, tragically forgetting everything her father did after all?
I also really lovedMary's part in this episode, especially since it provided an inner monologue for how he deduced the ring tone - something which Watson's character wouldn't have really provided an opportunity to speak it out loud like Sherlock. And it was really smart to bring back the idea of Irene - I didn't consider beforehand how she's the exact contrast to Mary's demise.
Was probably meant to foreshadow who she is and what her name isWhen mycroft said an east wind is coming, did he know what this was all about?
Unbelievably good and clever from top to bottom. Not only the best *x02 by far, one of the best episodes in the entire series.
No she won't. Have you watched the episode?
This one was way less impossible to deduce than zombie Moriarty:I mean, I guess at least? Having twists that are impossible to deduce for the sake of megaton-shocking-twist just feels kind of banal now.Moriarty isn't back
How was this impossible to guess when they say "hiding in plain sight" like 20 times in the episode?I mean, I guess at least? Having twists that are impossible to deduce for the sake of megaton-shocking-twist just feels kind of banal now.Moriarty isn't back
Really great episode, a lot better than the first one this year. Here are my pros and cons.
Pro:Con:
- Funnier and creepier.
- Manic Sherlock is best Sherlock.
Serial killer plot.- Toby Jones steals the show.
- Map shenanigans.
Serial killer plot underdeveloped. Could have been more elaborate. Did Sherrington acquire the Faith note from her? Was it made up?- Meth abuse apparently makes you grow a slight stubble.
- Over-repetition of the
Miss Me video recording. If Sherrington is an evil master criminal or psychopath, why did Mycroft have her pencilled in his diary? Ghost Mary.

Well yeah. No shit Sherlock! (Okay that was too easy)because Sherlock, as always, continues to be about how everything is about Sherlock.
He wouldn't have been caught without the note but like most serial killers I suppose he wanted to be (caught).Eurus tells Watson she got Faith's note from Culverton, she added the Miss Me part afterwards.
It's not so much about Sherlock being the focus, as much as it makes all supporting characters one-dimesional and inconsequential. You could simply say the same thing about all the male supporting characters. So uh... that particular criticism seems rather paper-thin, especially from a gender perspective. And from a non-gender perspective... well, yes, it's true that Sherlock gets away with everything, suffers no real consequence, is a genius who's always right but that's what the character Sherlock Holmes is all about. Complain to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, not the show. It seems a little silly to complain that a show literally called Sherlock is too much about Sherlock. :S
I know they are actors and it's their job and all but damn that last scene between John and ghost Mary where he says he wants to be a better man must have been rough considering they just separated. It's like the whole "I'm so sorry I want to be better please take me back" kind of speech.
I never watch these for just this reason, even though I assumedThe cliffhanger ofif Watson was shot was kind of nullified by the preview for next week's episode but still
