Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 (PS4/PS Vita) coming out on Feb. 25

What's the difference between the two versions by the way?

Tecmo is actually the first (or second?) major Japanese pub to officially skip PS3 development now.
What do you mean by "officially"? They're still announcing PS3 games and even going back to add it to franchises that weren't on PS3 like Toukiden.

I really wish my main girl Mila made it, but there's a couple that got in that I quite like, so that'll do I suppose.

If there is a special edition, I am importing. If there is not, I am still importing.

They said in the press they had PS4 only games coming. Perhaps not 100% confirmation of dropping PS3 support, but a very rare move amongst Japanese publishers in general.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune will cost 9,504 yen and have a 14,904 yen collector’s edition. Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Venus will cost 8,424 yen and have a 13,824 yen collector’s edition. Both games will feature Marie Rose and Honoka on the front cover, given they were the most popular girls in the playable character election.

At a later date, Koei Tecmo plans to launch a download-only Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 “Starter Pack” including a single character. It won’t be free, and it will be possible to add additional characters by purchasing them separately. A release date and price for the Starter Pack will be announced later on.

Both “Butt Battle” and “Beach Volleyball” gameplay modes are in. More events than previous titles are planned.

Development on Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is currently 18 percent complete.

I guess Kasumi is no longer the poster girl of the franchise, lol

It's actually happened before.

Dead or Alive 3, the original DoaX and DoaX Paradise didn't use her for the cover art (or had others in her place).

What I mean is she was the image of the franchise and the most popular character in Japan before Marie and Honoka were created. I own all the games, so I already know she is not in the cover in every single game, Paradise had her on the cover in the Japanese Collector's Edition anyway.

They better improve the casino bits.
Hahaha, oh man, I'm just having flashbacks to 2 and never allowing the game to patch so I could continue the casino exploit.

Even with that exploit that game was some of the hands down most tedious grinding I've ever experienced in games...

Hmmm, starting to rethink some things.

Really?, never notice.
Pick Tina in outfit 1 let her sit idle BOOM

Yet she looks like all the other Asian characters, including Honoka who literally has the same face.
Honoka is a troll character
I'm aware that two characters are not Asian.

But it should be no surprise at all that Hitomi is more popular in Japan than Tina.
Hitomu is also German technically 3 western gals 4 Japanese and 1 Kstoute wife

today's magazine said the game is 18% complete lol.
ignore those numbers it was probably 18% at the clearing of pr it is probably feature complete right now.

Marie Rose has her own audience and Honoka is apparently rather popular right now. Kasumi will probably continue to be the poster girl, but I guess if these two hold thier current ground that might change.

That's a nice way to sugarcoat it, sure.

Koei's super price. Romance of Three Kingdom games usually have this price.

To those of you that are planning on importing this game:

-Do you speak japanese?
-If not are there subtitles or are the menus simple enough to navigate?
-Do you need a Japanese PSN account to play the import?

No Japanese. Can only read a few Katakana.
Menus are often easy to figure out
Nope, you can play it on your main account. But then everyone will know...

-no, but why would I need to talk to the game?
-menus are easy and I'm not expecting the most convoluted of story modes.
-only if you buy digital.
